Have you heard about the 10 tonne Polar Bear…

Well now we’ve broken the ice!

I have started this blog as a way of getting out of my comfort zone, as a way of getting to know myself better and to hopefully push myself into doing more of the things I want to do. I struggle to express myself most of the time and usually tend to just not, so please try and bare with me!

A start to getting to know me: I’m 23. I moved to Manchester earlier this year to start my first full time job. I build lasers (I just hope to gain super powers – screw you lab safety!).Before all this I read Maths and Physics at Loughborough University. And before all that I lived with my family in Suffolk.

Between Uni and now I decided I wanted to get out of my comfort zone so applied through Camp America to work at an American summer camp. Luckily I got placed at a camp in up state NY. It is a charity run camp for under privileged, inner city New York boys. So just about as far out of my comfort zone as I could get.

I’ve never learnt so much about myself and the world in such a short period of time. It is the best thing I’ve done so far, by far, and for so many reasons.

One of the lessons we all got taught at camp was that you don’t learn or grow unless you get out of your comfort zone. So here I go again…
